2014 Dallas Cup

Members of Team Apex kicked-off their 2014 competition season at The Dallas Cup T&T Invitational in the Allen Event Center on January 18th.  Seven of the athletes earned medals in the top 3 of their age and level groups.

Stacee Brawner, an 18-year-old level 6 athlete who also serves as one of the team’s assistant coaches, won first place on trampoline.  Shelby Wilkins, 11, is a second-year athlete with Apex but spent much of her first season recovering from a broken leg.  She placed first on level 5 double mini.

Sarah Harrison, 10, has been involved in recreational classes at Apex but this year she is competing with the team for the first time.  She won first place on level 4 double mini and 2nd place on level 4 trampoline.

Jaret Henson, 13, was a National finalist last summer and at Dallas Cup he won a bronze medal for level 5 trampoline.  Paige Coker, 11, finished strong with her level 5 tumbling pass with a 3rd place medal.

Caroline Vincent, 10, another second-year athlete, won the bronze medal for her level 5 trampoline routine.  The newest and youngest member of Team Apex, affectionately know as “Tiny” to the team, is Alexa Brockett, 7.  She placed 2nd on level 4 double mini.

On Saturday, January 25th, Team Apex hosted a Showcase to raise funds for team meets and activities.  The athletes had a great time demonstrating their routines and skills and enjoyed a great deal of applause from the spectators.  They appreciate the support!

This month will be very busy with The Metroplex Challenge on Feb. 15th, The Palaestra Invitational on Feb. 22nd, and The Trevino’s Invitational on March 1st.  Good luck, Team Apex!
